Live Zoom Rules & Participation Standards

This policy applies to all live, instructor-led Zoom courses offered by California Safe Driver, including Alive at 25® and Attitudinal Dynamics of Driving ("ADoD"). It is part of the California Safe Driver Terms of Service and is incorporated by reference.
By enrolling in a live Zoom course, you acknowledge and agree to these rules.
1. General Requirements
Students must:
- Use a desktop computer, laptop computer, or tablet
- Log in to your live Zoom class forty-five (45) minutes before the class start time to check in with the instructor and show proof of government identification and the workbook
- Complete any required pre-class assignment
- Attend the full class
- Remain on camera when required (entire instructional time)
- Return from breaks on time
- Be awake, attentive, and engaged
- Follow the instructor's directions
Cell phones may not be used as the primary attendance device.
2. Internet Requirement
Students are responsible for maintaining a stable internet connection. Loss of internet connection exceeding five (5) minutes may result in removal from class.
Students removed for attendance noncompliance may be required to re-enroll at current tuition rates.
3. Conduct Standards
Students may not engage in conduct that is:
- Disruptive
- Threatening
- Harassing
- Obscene
- Offensive
- Discriminatory
- Unsafe
Foul language is not acceptable.
4. Dress and Environment
Students must appear appropriately dressed for a professional educational setting. Clothing or presentation that is revealing, obscene, offensive, discriminatory, or disruptive is prohibited.
Students must maintain a quiet, non-distracting environment. Background noise, offensive backgrounds, visible inappropriate activity, or unauthorized persons interfering with class are prohibited and may result in the instructor removing you from the class, requiring you to re-enroll and pay for another class.
Only the registered student may attend.
5. Alcohol and Drugs
Students may not attend class while using, or impaired by, alcohol, illegal drugs, or any substance that materially affects participation or safety.
6. Safety
Students may not drive or ride as a passenger in a vehicle or operate machinery while attending class.
7. Enforcement
Students who fail to comply with these rules may be removed from the class, denied a certificate, and required to re-enroll at current tuition rates.
